Interview with Sound Designer

Interview with Sound Designer: (in written form)

Me: When creating music for the first few minutes of a film what would you say is important?

Sound Designer: In the first few minutes of a film there should always be an obvious mood and whether it changes or not should be noticeable for the audience. So when creating the music for the title sequence of '2-Faced', considering the fact that there is a transition in character personality I had to show that through the beat and the tone of the sound.

Me: When creating two different tones and attitudes through sound what would you say is most important to include?

Sound Designer: When portraying a sad sound it is important to edge towards a light piano based background whereas when portraying a happier sound you are free to include drums and guitars, instruments which allow you play about with the outcome alot more.

Me: How important would you said the inclusion of foley sounds are?

Sound Designer: Foley sounds are important when trying to portray a realistic feel especially when there is no dialogue in the scenes.

Me: Thank you for your time and I look forward to reporting back to the world of your work in '2-Faced'!
